Elizabeth Handschuch, is licensed to practice law in Texas, Pennsylvania and New Jersey and is a member of the  American Bar Association, Dallas Womens Law Association,  Rockwall County Bar Association, Tort & Insurance Practice Group of the Dallas, Texas & the American Bar Associations.   She is active in the community as a leader in Heath CubScouts Pack 386 and is a board member of Women in Need of Rockwall & Hunt Counties, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping those affected by family domestic violence. Elizabeth has also had the distiction of being Rockwall County B.A. Pro Bono Lawyer of the year. Her Pro Bono work is also recognized by the Texas Bar.

Elizabeth Handschuch


Elizabeth  recieved her law degree with honors from Rutgers University School of Law (GPA 3.5) in 1989 where she was a member of the Rutgers Law Journal and an intern to the Honorable  Raymond J. Broderick, Judge ot the United States  District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.  She received an
American Jurisprudence Award for the Highest Grade in Legal Research & Writing.  Following law school, she clerked 2 years at the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in Philadephia, Pennsylvania.  She graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill,  in 1986, receiving a  Bachelor of Arts  with Distinction (GPA 3.79), was inducted into PHI BETA KAPPA, and was an all-American Field Hockey player.  She was selected to the Atlantic Coast Conference  Honor Roll and UNC Dean's list  each year from 1983 to 1986 and was awarded the Athletic Director's Award for Excellence in Scholarship & Athletics.  She  also received an NCAA post-graduate scholarship.   She was valedictorian of the Class of 1982 of Pinelands Regional High School, Ocean County, New Jersey and was inducted into into its High School Hall of Fame in 1988. The High School also created a scholarship in her name to be given to a graduating student demonstrating excellence in scholarsip and athletics.  Elizabeth participated in the United States Field Hockey Olympic Development Camp, the United States Junior Olympics and was invited to train at the U.S. Olympic training facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Elizabeth has been married to Rick Handschuch since 1985.  They have two children, Ricky and Jacob, who attend Amy Parks Heath Elementary School.  The Handschuchs have lived in Texas since 1991 and in Heath since 1998.
